- Be sure to put pearls on after applying cosmetics, perfumes and other personal care products, which can dull their luster over time causing spots & blotches.
- Never use commercial jewelry cleaners unless it is specifically made for pearls.
- Never use ultrasonic and steam cleaners.
- Pearls should be wiped with a soft cloth before being stored & kept separate from other precious metals or gemstones that might scratch or dull their tender surfaces.
- Pearls should not be stored in boxes for long periods of time.
- The best way to care for pearls is to wear them often because the body's natural oils keep them lustrous.
- To revitalize your pearl, you may soak it for a few minutes in fresh water. Dry the pearl with a soft cloth and apply a drop of extra virgin olive oil to keep your pearl as lustrous as the day you purchased it.
